Adam and Marianne Marshall have converted part of their home, the 15th Century Old Forge, into unique and charming one bed holiday retreat. Sitting opposite the stunning flint Church this perfect setting is the ideal place to relax, unwind or retreat.

The Annexe is entered from Church Street by a private entrance. Downstairs is the living/dining area with a small kitchenette/cooking space. Up the winding staircase is a romantic vaulted beamed bedroom and ensuite power shower. The space is small but has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Well equipped with utensils and cooking equipment, including a full-size oven, small fridge/freezer, microwave and a table to eat or work. Good Wifi, a TV/DVD player and many books to idle away your days. It provides the perfect bolthole to visit the beautiful surrounding countryside and villages. Boxford is a pretty medieval village with a thriving community. It has a good pub, a popular cafe, well stocked shop, butchers and post office. Also home to a beauticians and hairdresser if you feel like a bit of pampering.
Nestled between the market towns of Hadleigh and Sudbury, Boxford is close to Kersey, Lavenham, Stoke by Nayland, Dedham (Constable country) and Long Melford making it an ideal spot from which to explore the area. There are many footpaths leading from Boxford to ramble across the fields. And a choice of pretty country lanes with varied and interesting routes by bike. We can store bikes in our cart lodge around the back. Two knockabout bikes are available to borrow.

The Old Forge is a luxurious small holiday cottage converted from a Grade II listed house. It provides a unique place to relax and unwind.
An ideal retreat for a couple wanting a get-away. Completely self-contained you enter via coach doors into the living area and small kitchenette. A curling staircase leads to the beamed vaulted bedroom with ensuite power shower.
Bikes
Picturesque bike routes surround us, winding country lanes along circular routes. Undercover storage available and two 'knock around' bikes available to borrow.

One well behaved dog welcome to stay. £15 charge per stay. Dogs must not be left alone and are not permitted upstairs or on furniture.

Old Felixstowe is our favourite beach or the golden sands of Frinton, both accessible in under an hour. Aldeburgh, Southwold & Walberswick are about 1.5/2 hours drive.

Dedham & Flatford, renowned as Constable country, Long Melford & Clare for antiques, Cavendish, Lavenham, Kersey, Hadleigh. All within easy reach.
Cultural Sites
Medieval village of Lavenham is nearby. The town of Bury St Edmund's with its Cathedral, pretty gardens, Georgian architecture & smart shops is 45 mins drive away. Cambridge just over an hour.
